The 8-week program, developed by Human Quotient Group and delivered by two local Defence and veteran spouses, brought together partners of serving Defence Force members to focus on practical learning, career development, and wellbeing – with the support of onsite childcare.

Meet Marcela Ekin de Castro, a Defence partner who arrived in Adelaide ready for a fresh start. With a Master’s Degree and a varied background across executive-level roles, she came into the Cowork Coplay Adelaide 2025 program with a strong foundation but a desire to reconnect with her professional identity after relocation.

Cowork Coplay Darwin 2025: Connection, courage & new beginnings
The first Cowork Coplay program delivered in the Northern Territory wrapped up on 2 December. Participants in the 8-week program celebrated and shared their experiences with stakeholders from Defence, government and the local community.
The program delivered learning, wellbeing, self-development and connection opportunities. What did that look like in the room each week? Laughter, vulnerable sharing, small wins, big decisions and the kind of connection that shifts the way you walk into a new year.

Participants in this year’s Cowork Coplay program have gained knowledge, skills, improved wellbeing and a sense of community, supporting them to take meaningful steps toward personal and professional success.
A record 17 partners took part in the eight-week program, which is designed to support career development, wellbeing and community connection for those impacted by the demands, and at times, uncertainty of military life.

The program returns to Adelaide in 2025 for the partners of current and former serving Defence members. Founded by defence spouses, supporting defence families is in APOD’s DNA.
